Lake Tahoe, California, USA

There are two "Clothing Optional" beaches on Lake Tahoe, California. Leave it to us to accidentally find one of them. Jeremy and I decided to park on the side of a very tight and winding road, saying "there! park there!" and then passing the spot out of speed or stress. Finally, we did park, right on a winding corner, and we could get our van off the road far enough to feel comfortable. With a goal of getting to the water, we began to descend down a steep bluff (completely trail-less). We bush-whacked through the thick brush and trees for about an hour, when we came across a trial, or at least an old road. We followed it, keeping the memory of which-way-the-lake-was in our minds. Finally, we come to a beach, one that we assumed nobody else could possibly be at, yet, there was a woman and her dog, and a lone man already there. We later realized that there was a lovely trail, which leads right to this beach, but only a local would recognize the trail head. This was one of two nude beaches at Lake Tahoe, and somehow, in it's circumference of 22 miles, we found it.
