Diamond Fork Hot Springs, USA

This one is actually in Umpqua Hot Springs, but I felt it fit best here.

What was most fun about visiting Diamond Fork Hot Springs was the journey of getting there, and when I say this, I am only kidding, because getting there was a lot like hellish torture. Somehow, our GPS (which was surviving on one bar of service), had taken us on a 20 mile back-way to the springs, which looped through the Unita's, and brought us to such a high elevation that we encountered snow and ice. We had hoped to make it to the springs by 10ish pm, camp out, and hike in when the morning came around. Instead, we ended up driving until we could no longer, parked in the middle of the single track road, slept, woke up, and drove most of the next morning, finally finding the springs around 2pm the next day. There had been no opportunity to turn around on the narrow road in, making this feel like an endless and pointless journey into the depths of the Unitas. The 2 hour drive from Salt Lake City had taken us over 9 hours to complete. When we finally hit pavement, and moments later, the parking lot of the springs, we had felt both insane, grateful and were overcome with laughter, and in my case, tears. Leaving the springs took us about 10 minutes on a paved road before we hit the highway. I'll leave you with that.
